We propose a non-parametric methodology to realize abstraction images.The redundant wavelet "a trous" algorithm is applied for details detection.An multi-scale circular median filter is used as a smoothing filter.The proposed algorithm is simple and fast on low-cost entry-level hardware. Noise assisted image processing by ensembles of R-SETs

AbstractWe study how noise can assist the processing of an image in a resistance-single electron transistor (R-SET) model. The image is an 8-bit black and white picture. Every grey level is codified linearly into a sub-threshold input potential applied for a prescribed time window to an ensemble of R-SETs that transforms it into a spiking frequency. The addition of a background white noise potential of high amplitude permits the ensemble to process the image by means of the stochastic resonance phenomenon. Multispectral image denoising with optimized vector non-local mean filter

Nowadays, many applications rely on images of high quality to ensure good performance in conducting their tasks. However, noise goes against this objective as it is an unavoidable issue in most applications. Therefore, it is essential to develop techniques to attenuate the impact of noise, while maintaining the integrity of relevant information in images. 3d mesh denoising using normal based myriad filter

We propose a new filtering scheme for denoising of 3D objects which are represented by a triangular mesh. This scheme consists on applying myriad filter to face normals and then updating the vertices positions in order to preserve the original shape of the object. The choice of the Myriad is justified by the assumption of Cauchy distributed angles between surface normals. Full-parallax 3D display from the hole-filtered depth information

In this paper we introduce an efficient hole-filling algorithm for synthetic generation of microimages that are displayed on an integral imaging monitor. We apply the joint bilateral filter and the median filter to the captured depth map. We introduce in any step of the iterative algorithm with the data from a new Kinect capture. As a result, this algorithm can improve the quality of the depth maps and remove unmeasured depth holes effectively. This refined depth information enables to create a tidy integral image, which can be projected into an integral imaging monitor. Impulse noise removal on an embedded, low memory SIMD processor

Vector median filters efficiently reduce noise while preserving image details. However, their high computational complexity for color images makes them impractical for real-time systems. We propose new computationally efficient filtering algorithms, called index mapping filters (IMF). These filtering algorithms are accelerated by implementing them on a massively data parallel processor array. The aim of this study was to illustrate the influence of digital filters on the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and modulation transfer function (MTF) of digital images.
